MONTE MACGREGOR
Board Member
Monte MacGregor was called to the bar in 2003. After completing law school Mr. MacGregor, because of his background in banking and commerce, initially worked in corporate finance and securities at one of Canada’s largest firms. Although this experience was rewarding and challenging, it did not fully engage his passion for the law – it was only after stepping into the realm of criminal defence that his true desire was ignited. He takes inspiration from great leaders and speakers like Martin Luther King and Bobby Kennedy who utilized language and powerful speeches to cause impact and influence societal change.

Since coming to Toronto, he has practiced exclusively in criminal law. The focus of his practice is on larger scale prosecutions including murder, attempted murder, robbery, break and enter, firearms and drug offences, as well as large scale projects involving multiple accused. These cases demand difficult decisions and complex strategic plans to engage all of the issues and develop the most optimal solutions.

Early in his career Mr. MacGregor was fortunate to have the opportunity to teach Criminal Law, the Law of Evidence and Advocacy at Seneca College. This experience helped fortify his knowledge and strengthen his capabilities within the courtroom. Mr. MacGregor takes great pride in having received multiple referrals and recommendations from police officers, prosecutors and judges for people they have known that are in trouble. His experience and reputation amongst the legal community demonstrates the excellence that he brings each time he is called on to defend his clients.
